Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department (see information below slide show)
Chief of the Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department is Brian Foster.
The Fire Department serves the Village of Oakfield, the Town of Oakfield, and half of the Town of Byron. The equipment is stored in the Fire Department garage in the Village of Oakfield and is part of the Community Center, Police Department, Village Office and Library. The Department presently has 25 active volunteers. During a year they make from 30 to 60 calls. They also provide mutual aid to neighboring communities.
First Responders
First Responder Captain is Julie Franke.
The Department also has a First Responder group. There are 17 active members in this group. They make from 70 to 100 calls per year.
Funds to operate the Fire Department and First Responders come from tax levies from the Village and the two Towns. Other revenues come from 2% fire insurance dues, grants, donations, a yearly money raffle and gifts from the Ladies Auxiliary. All labor and time is volunteered.
To call the Fire Department or the First Responders Dial 911, you will get the Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center and they will dispatch the Fire Department or First Responders.
